Description

If this wine had been made in Champagne it would cost 3 times as much.

Franciacorta is by many considered to be the Italian answer to Champagne as many wineries, Ca' Del Bosco above all, have specialised on this particular style, improving the Metodo Classico to a level where they make wine that rightfully competes with that of the northern France region of Reims.

This sparkling wine is a Dosage Zero, meaning nothing is added to the product of fermentation (no liqueur d'expedition, this fellow is pure as nature wants it). It's a great expression of the mastery this Italian region and this winemaker has been able to achieve.

With this one you will surprise any Champagne lover you know... or why don't play a trick and give this to them stating it's Champagne? You'll be surprised how many would fail recognising this is NOT one!

Nose: Citrus, dried apricot, almond, toffee, minerals

Mouth: Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, almond mid-palate and finale

Pairing: Fish, salad, canapés
